9/11 VCF Makes it Easier for Goldman Sachs Employees to Receive Payout Awards
The 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund (VCF) recently provided new written guidance to help Goldman Sachs employees prove that they were in the “NYC 9/11 Exposure Zone” on 9/11 or anytime in the eight months after. Past and current employees of Goldman Sachs in New York, NY are being diagnosed with one or more of the 68 types of cancer that have been proven to be caused by exposure to toxins in the air on and after September 11th.
Newly updated Section 1.9 of the VCF’s Policies & Procedures provides past and present Goldman Sachs employees with important contact information and crucial steps to take in order to obtain a letter verifying their presence in the NYC Exposure Zone during the period of time between 9/11 and May 30, 2002. This presence documentation letter is required, amongst other documentation, to obtain a monetary award from the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund. While this information provided by the VCF is helpful, navigating the legal hurdles of the VCF can be frustrating, complicated, and time-consuming.
Since 2001, the experienced 9/11 legal team at Hansen & Rosasco has been helping downtown financial services workers and others navigate the many requirements of 9/11 compensation claims. Our focus has been to ensure that a VCF claim is quickly approved, and the VCF award is for the maximum amount under law. In addition, we make sure you receive the lifetime 9/11-related medical care you are entitled to from the World Trade Center Health Program. Our goal is to take the legal burden off of you so you can focus on your health.
