Non-melanoma Skin Cancer Conditions
Non-melanoma skin cancer is the most common cancer in the world, which is one of the reasons it was added to the 9/11 cancer list of covered conditions. While it is often associated with sun exposure, those who were exposed to the fumes, dust and toxins at or near Ground Zero (anywhere south of Canal Street) are especially at high risk.
Non-melanoma skin cancer (which includes basal and squamous cell) is covered under the Zadroga Act for medical care through the WTC Health Program and 9/11 Fund payouts. Our WTC lawyers have represented many clients with skin cancer in front of the Victim Compensation Fund.
